.Synopsis for the southern California coast and Santa Barbara
Channel including the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary
and National Park...at 16Z, or 9 AM PDT, a 1037 MB surface high was
centered 1100 NM northwest of Point Conception. This high will push
closer to the coast through tonight while an upper level northerly
jet forms over California. Strong gale force winds and dangerously
steep seas are expected to overspread the entire coastal today and
persist through early Tuesday.
