FORECAST FOR THE BEAUFORT SEA (Days 1 through 5)...Winds will
generally be northeasterly to northerly over the western Beaufort
Sea through Wednesday. The existing ice pack will likely drift 20 to
40 nm south-southwestward through Wednesday, and additional new sea
ice growth is likely as well.
FORECAST FOR THE CHUKCHI SEA (Days 1 through 5)...Generally
northerly to northeasterly winds will persist through Wednesday.
Much colder air will be moving into the Chukchi Sea region the
middle to end of next week, so additional new sea ice growth is
likely especially during that time. Overall, expect the ice edge to
move 25 to 45 nm to the south-southwest through Wednesday.
-Bering Sea-
PKZ200-Norton Sound-
PKZ210-Dall Point to Wales-
There is sea ice within protected bays of the Northern Bering Sea
such as Norton Bay, Golovin Bay, and Safety Sound.
FORECAST FOR THE BERING SEA (Days 1 through 5)...Winds will shift
from northeasterly to westerly by Wednesday. Additional new sea ice
growth is expected within the protected bays of northern Norton
Sound. As colder air moves in toward the end of next week, new sea
ice formation farther south is likely especially along the Yukon
River Delta and along the southern edge of Norton Sound.
