THE MONTH OF AUGUST AT THE GRAND FORKS UNIVERSITY (NWS) WAS SLIGHTLY
ABOVE NORMAL IN TEMPERATURES AND WELL BELOW NORMAL IN PRECIPITATION.
THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 69.1 DEGREES WHICH WAS 1.5
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE TEMPERATURES DURING THE MONTH STARTED OFF
SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL BEFORE CLIMBING TO NEAR TO ABOVE NORMAL FOR
THE REMAINDER OF THE MONTH. NO TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE BROKEN
DURING THE MONTH.

PRECIPITATION FOR THE MONTH WAS WELL BELOW NORMAL. TOTAL LIQUID
PRECIPITATION WAS 1.09 INCHES WHICH WAS 1.96 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.
