.DISCUSSION...
Rich monsoon moisture will persist over the Four Corners region
through Thursday with a risk of locally heavy rainfall and flash
flooding each afternoon and evening. Stronger storms will be capable
of producing rain at rates near 1 inch per half hour. Today, showers
and thunderstorms will move toward the north and northeast at speeds
from 10-20 mph. On Wednesday they will move toward the northeast at
15-25 mph. Drier air is forecast to begin filtering over the area
from the west on Thursday night causing a significant downtick in
thunderstorm coverage and rainfall intensity on Friday and dry
weather this weekend. Wet microbursts will be possible today through
Thursday with erratic wind gusts potentially reaching 50 mph from
stronger cells.
