.DISCUSSION...

Elevated fire weather conditions due to low humidity from 12 to
around 20 percent are expected across southwest Nebraska into
the central Sandhills. Winds will be light northerly up to 10
mph across this area however. Although recent rainfall did occur
across most of the area, fire districts are reporting that fuels
are cured and ready to burn.

Much cooler Wednesday and Thursday with no fire weather concerns
expected. There is a good chance for rainfall, especially south
of Highway 2. Storm total rainfall from early Wednesday into
Friday morning could be significant. WPC forecast is for a half
inch to an inch across the southeast panhandle and southwest
Nebraska. The highest amounts across far southwest counties.
