.DISCUSSION...

.REST OF TODAY...Occasional squalls will continue to move north to
northwest across the region this afternoon, as Major Hurricane Ian
makes landfall. Rainbands and squalls associated with Ian will continue
tonight through Thursday, as Ian weakens and moves very slowly toward
the north to northeast across the area. Wind speeds will continue to
increase as Ian gradually moves closer to the area through tomorrow,
with the center forecast to push off the east central Florida coast
Thursday afternoon.

Onset of more frequent tropical storm force winds and gusts expected
late this afternoon around 5 PM, and will continue through tonight
through Thursday night. Peak winds around 50 to 65 mph possible with
gusts up to 85 mph, which will mainly with Ian`s closest approach
toward Thursday morning and early afternoon.
