The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southwestern Otero County in south central New Mexico...
  East central Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico...

* Until 630 PM MDT.

* At 553 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Talavera,
  moving northeast at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Las Cruces, White Sands Missile Range Headquarters, Organ,
  Talavera, East Mesa, Portions of Jornada Experimental Range,
  Northeast Las Cruces, Dripping Springs, Aguirre Springs, Portions
  of Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument, and Soledad
  Canyon.

This includes Highway 70 in New Mexico between mile markers 155 and
176.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
