Hazardous Weather Outlook National Weather Service San Juan PR 419 AM AST Mon Dec 9 2019 AMZ710>745-PRZ001>013-100830- San Juan and Vicinity-Northeast-Southeast-Eastern Interior- North Central-Central Interior-Ponce and Vicinity-Northwest- Western Interior-Mayaguez and Vicinity-Southwest-Culebra-Vieques- The nearshore and off shore Atlantic and Caribbean Coastal Waters- 419 AM AST Mon Dec 9 2019 This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Puerto Rico and the adjacent Atlantic Coastal Waters. .Day One...Today and Tonight .Thunderstorms...There is a slight chance of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall and brief gusty winds this afternoon across portions of western and central interior Puerto Rico. .Wind...Sustained winds in excess of 17 knots are expected across the local waters. .Waves...Choppy/Rough seas up to 6 feet are expected across the local outer waters today and up to 7 feet tonight. .Rip Currents...There is a moderate risk of rip currents for most local beaches except the western beaches south of Rincon and in the vicinity of Ponce. .Days Two through Seven...Tuesday through Sunday The risk of rip currents will become high along beaches with northern exposure in Puerto Rico Culebra and Vieques. Seas will increase to 7 locally 9 feet in the outer waters and passages during the period. .Spotter information statement... Widespread spotter activation is not anticipated, however individual spotter are encouraged to report flooding and rip currents to the National Weather Service in San Juan. $$
